Rocking Baby Eleanor
As I rocked baby Eleanor tonight I turned her from the “normal” position which is her head is on my shoulder to her being horizontal with her face looking up at mine on my right. She was exhausted as was I (seems I’m always that way these days with 3 girls ages 6 and under) but not crabby. Instead, she looked up into my eyes as I sang one of my homemade lullabies (one I’ve sang to Lillian and Julia as well). Her mouth smiled as did her eyes and I, of course, was overwhelmed with emotion….. no surprise there right? I told God right then and there that I could never deserve to be this blessed but am grateful for this amazing moment with this phenomenal baby girl in my arms. It then became clear to me that God loves me and everyone in the world SO much. He revels in the moments that we “look in His eyes” with our own, I am just sure of it.
No matter where you are in life at this very moment….. happy place or sad, broken or seemingly whole. God loves you and wants you to look to Him. I did exactly that while rocking Eleanor and am doing it as I’m typing this blog to you.
Thanks God my father. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Very true — Elementary, yet so profound, as the Robert Pierre song says. Thank God for loving us even when we chose not to love Him. He deserves all our praise!
Wow….beautiful imagery of God's love for us….reminds me of a story I heard during a chapel at my school a couple of weeks ago. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on this, Greg!
